I’m severely confused about the floor goals now. A teacher of mine told me that if we scored, lets say a stack of a ball and barrel, into the floor goal, both would be counted. The reasoning was, the ball is touching the barrel which is touching the mat. It makes sense (sort of). The rules do state that the object must be touching the mat, but it doesn’t specify EACH of the game objects HAVE to be touching the mat.
I’ve always thought, from what I read in the rules over the summer, that the object has to be partially or fully into the floor goal, AND each touching the mat. But now, after finding the loophole, I’m just confused out of my mind. I think that wording loophole makes sense and can work, but whats the official answer? Who’s right, me or my teacher?
As an add on, here’s the definition of “scored” from the manual; 11/07/11 version:

There is no loophole here, the wording is quite clear. The Scoring Object must be touching a foam field tile to be counted in the Floor Goal. The reasoning that it’s okay for it not to touch the tile if it’s touching another Scoring Object does not make any sense in VEX Gateway, as this clause is not in the rules.
