Answered: G7 Placing Robots

This has come up a couple of times, G7 states …

First, I believe that in the elimination rounds the “higher seeded Alliance” is the better seeded alliance. Some have said that 8 is a higher number than 1, so the #8 seeded alliance is the higher seeded alliance. It seems that the #1 alliance has earned the right to place their robots last. Please confirm. Suggestion - change the wording to “better” if that is the case or give examples.

Next, say the #8 seed beats the #1 seed and play the #4 seed in the semis. #8 vs. #4. TM will make #8 the red alliance and #4 the blue alliance. Some believe that since the #8 alliance beat the #1 alliance they “assume the #1 seed now” and are now the higher seeded team. I don’t believe this is correct and that the rule should give the advantage to the #4 seeded alliance to place their robots last vs the #8 seeded alliance. Please confirm.

The bolded interpretation is correct. “Higher seed” is referring to the “better” alliance in terms of seeding.

This interpretation is correct.
