Answered: <G8> Returning Objects To Field After Match Ends

I have a question regarding <G8> (quoted below)

<G8> Scoring Objects that leave the playing field will be promptly returned to the playing field in the same
Zone as the Robot that ejected the Scoring Object. Teams may not intentionally remove Scoring Objects
from the scoring field, while not in the process of Stashing or removing Stashed Scoring Objects.
Violations of this rule will result in a warning for minor offenses which do not affect the match. Egregious
(match affecting) offenses will result in a Disqualification. Teams who receive multiple warnings may also
receive a Disqualification at the head referee’s discretion. Note: Scoring Objects will never be returned to
the playing field in a Stashed position

During our past competition, we had a situation regarding G8.

About 2 seconds after the match ended, a large ball slipped out of our intake and fell out of the playing field. My interpretation of this rule would be that the large ball that fell out of the field would be put back into the field. It doesn’t make sense to have objects sitting out of the field.

The ref, however, did not put the large ball back into the field. I showed the ref <G8>, and he said that objects that fell out of the field after the round was over were not returned to the playing field. He showed my <G9>

<G9> Scores will be calculated for all Matches immediately after the Match once all objects on the field
come to rest.

He said that all the objects had come to rest (even the one outside the field), so they would just leave it.

Who’s interpretation is correct? To me, leaving objects outside of the field does not make any sense. Should the object have been returned to the field?

Thus, the Objects should have returned to the field, as per <SG8>
