One Saturday one of my friends asked me if it would be legal for the drive team (drivers and coach) to have a headset communication system. Because our coach had to lift the gate put the negation/put the matchloads and doubler, most of the time the drivers would not hear what he was saying. I was wondering if it would be legal for the coach to have a small mic attached to his shirt, and the drivers could have headphones on which would have the drivers hear what the coach was saying. If it is legal, would it only be legal of a wired headset, or could you also have a wireless headset? I was just wondering, because this could potential help out our drive team.
There are no rules preventing the use of headsets for communication within the Alliance Station. However communication outside the Alliance Station is not permitted. Thus you must be able to demonstrate to event staff that the headsets are not being used to contact anyone outside the Alliance Station.
Furthermore, any wireless communication must not use any sort of WiFi technology.
ok, thanks for clarifying.
You’re welcome.
