Hi, I’ve been working on this year’s code for team 599C and I was hoping to utilize the VEX LEDs this year to signal our Drivers during a match. I wrote code to light the LED just to test it. I assigned it as digital port 1, plugged in a PWM extension into digital port 1, and then plugged the LED into the extension with the two pins plugged into red and black. Upon powering on the Cortex, the LED was illuminated… and burning. We turned the Cortex off and now we have a burned out LED. Has anyone else had this problem and/or knows what is wrong??
xraymypanda,
If you are using an extension cable it will be quite easy to connect the LED in the wrong direction, which will damage the LED for sure.
Please make sure that you connect the LED in the right orientation.
