Answered: High Strength Gear Torque Limit

On the normal spur gears page, they have the torque limit, but no on the page for high strength gears.

So what is the torque limit in lb-in for these gears? can they withhold aprox. 800 lb-in of torque?

Also, if the gears don’t break, what is the next weakest point? the axle? what’s the snapping strength of that?

**Currently there are no published high strength gear torque limits. We encourage the community through testing and real world conditions to publish their results.

Axles have been known to twist or bend under the most extreme conditions as shown in this thread:**
