Answered: measuring devices to position the robot at the start of the match

If i recall correctly, it is illegal to use any measuring devices to align your robot at the start of the match. this includes tape measure, lasers, etc

However in this recent Q+A thread, you allowed the use of a “block of wood”

I was wondering what the difference is between a “block of wood” and other conventional or unconventional measuring devices.

This is incorrect. There are no rules prohibiting this, provided that robots are placed on the field promptly.

A block of wood is different than other devices because the other devices lack the properties intrinsic to being a block of wood.
