Answered: Mounting for single acting cylinders.

I looked in the FAQ’s for the Pneumatics kit, but I didn’t see anything about this.

I was thinking about ordering a pneumatics kit and I had a question about the mounting of the single acting cylinders. I know that they have a mounting hole at the back of the cylinder for using an axle or screw, but I didn’t see anything at the front end in the pictures. The double acting cylinders appear to have a threaded collar at the front end to solidly mount the cylinder to a structure besides the mounting hole at the back end.

Is there any other way to mount the single acting cylinders?

Any information that you could give me would be appreciated.

Thank you

There is no way to directly mount the front of the single acting cylinder. You would need to design a custom bracket that wraps around the cylinder (perhaps some sort of clamp).

Thanks for the quick response. That is kind of what I figured, but I just wanted to make sure. It sounds like it would be better to get the double acting cylinders then since they would have more mounting options and be powered both ways.

Thanks for the information,
