Answered: new <R15> ruling?

in this Q&A you ruled that it’s legal to bend the arm on a limit switch since it’s a purely mechanical modification and the electronics on the switch are unaltered.

back in this Q&A it was asked if the same kind of modification (purely mechanical, with the electronics inside the plastic casing remaining unmodified) and you ruled that it was not legal.

should this newer Q&A be considered a changed ruling?

Bending the arm of a limit switch is something that has always been legal. Drilling into encoder housings is something that has always been and continues to be illegal.
