Answered: Nonfunctional Decoration?

If a team takes weights, paints them, and calls them nonfunctional decoration, but it’s apparent that the weights are being used as a counter balance, does is it still fall under the guidelines of nonfunctional decoration?

If so, how would one go about disproving their claim. I’m thinking asking them to remove the weights and drive around, but I’m really not sure how to tread around this issue.

These weights would not be considered non-functional decorations, as they are providing the function of a counter balance.

If an inspector determines that something on a robot is functional, it is up to the team to prove that it is non functional. The lead inspector at the event has the final decision on the matter.
