Answered: Official Defensive strategy

In this finals we we’re wondering how legal the blue alliance strategy was. They tipped our stack, pinned us multiple times over 5 seconds, and we were wondering by how they hoard the mobile goals are they also hoarding cones?

We apologize for the delay in answering this question. Please remember that referee rulings at an event are considered final, and that the GDC cannot formally rule upon or overturn referee decisions after the fact. We were not at the event, cannot comment on a given referee’s thought process, and have no knowledge of any greater situational context (such as previous warnings).

That being said, based on the video, the tipped stack at the end of the match does not appear to be Match Affecting, and there does not appear to be any Cone hoarding. The contact around 1:20 in the video may be considered Pinning or Trapping, but again, it is up to the head referee to determine whether warnings were heeded, whether it was Match Affecting, etc.
