At a recent competition the head referee ruled that all match loads must be outside the plane of the field perimeter at the start of a skills run. Throughout the season many teams have begun their skills run with a student holding a cube or stars above the starting tile in preparation for introduction onto the field or robot.
Is it legal for a student to hold match loads above the starting tile at the beginning of a skills run?
Rule <SG4> states that teams may momentarily break the plane of the field while introducing Driver Control Loads. This includes at the beginning of the Match. Thus this is legal. For more details please see this previous Q&A:
