Rule SG6 states
Any Scoring Objects introduced during the Match as Driver Control Loads must be either
gently placed on a Robot of your own color touching the Loading Zone or gently entered into the
Loading Zone of your own color, by a Student Drive Team Member during the Driver Controlled
Period. The intent of this rule is to allow teams to introduce objects into play, but not to impart energy
on the Scoring Object which will cause it to end up in a position outside the Loading Zone.
then there is a picture shown that shows a robot part in and part out of the loading zone, with a ball in the claw, which is out of the loading zone, and is labeled as legal driver control load.
So here is the question.
If my robot is touching the loading zone, but the place where I intake the ball is out of the loading zone, am I allowed to place the ball into the intake. that is, am I allowed to place a ball on my robot, even if the spot I am placing it is outside the loading zone, as long as my bot is touching the loading zone.
this would require me to use my hand to move a ball outside the loading zone, which is in violation of the part of the rule that says " the intent of this rule is to allow teams to introduce objects into play, but not to impart energy
on the Scoring Object which will cause it to end up in a position outside the Loading Zone.", however the rule also says I can place a ball in a robot touching the loading zone
