Answered: Question about Scored

Hi Karthik,

Just a clarification on this Q&A.

I believe the original question was regarding moving an object from Clause 1, to Clause 2 but not descoring it.

Is this what you were referring to? Ie. would it be illegal to move an object from Clause 1 to Clause 2, and then drop it into the goal again, such that at no point during the action the object was ever in a not-scored position?

If so, could you elaborate on when the “even if it no longer meets the clause 1 requirements.” part of <SG9> would come into play?

Note: in no way would this create a loophole for descoring Clause 1 objects, they have still been scored under Clause 1 at one point in time, and so cannot be descored. It just allows, for example, descoring of legally descorable objects by pushing a Clause 1 object up, such that the top object falls off, and then releasing the Clause 1 objects such that they fall back into the goal.

Thanks

Yes, this would be legal.

Once an Object is Scored via Clause 1, it cannot be descored legally. Even if this Scoring Object later no longer meets the Clause 1 requirements.
