Answered: Question on the "legal" types of plastics

Referring to R7f: Teams may use Non-shattering plastic from the following list; polycarbonate, acetel monopolymer (Delrin), acetal copolymer (Acetron GP), POM (acetal), ABS, PEEK, PET, HDPE, LDPE, Nylon (all grades), Polypropylene, FEP; as cut from a single 12" x 24" sheet up to 0.070" thick.

Would there be any chance that this list might be updated? Specifically, is there any chance that acrylic plastic (PMMA) might be added to the list? It’s a non shattering plastic that my school has.

Otherwise, it’s very hard to find sheets of plastic from the list that are only 0.07 inches thick.

Thank you!

No, acrylic is not legal, specifically because many varieties of acrylic shatter quite easily.
