I teach 7th grade Robotics for a middle school. We are about to recieve a kit to participate in Vex Robotics Competition: Round up. What computer system to do they use for programing? My students are wanting to know if the robots REALLY are able to fly? Please let us know what we can expect with our kits and how much work we will have to do between now and Febuary.

There are two types of programming software for VEX robots, easyC and RobotC. You can find more information about both here: http://www.vexrobotics.com/products/programming
No, unfortunately the robots cannot fly.
This is a hard question to give a quantitative response to. You’ll definitely have a lot of work to do, with the amount depending on how well you want to do and how efficiently you work.
