Answered: <R16> clarification

Checklist Overall Inspection Item 6:
Robot on/off switch is accessible & Microcontroller lights are visible without moving or lifting the robot. R16

Rule Book:
<R16> The Robot on/off switch must be accessible without moving or lifting the robot. The Robot
Microcontroller lights should also be visible by competition personnel to assist in diagnosing robot
problems.

One of our robots has the electronics mounted underneath the chassis. The components, wiring, batteries, VEXnet key, and power switch are extremely easy to get to, this is the reason for the current configuration. The power switch are easily accessed from the front of the bot, but the status LEDs can not be seen directly. According to the rules this is OK, but the inspection checklist states otherwise, however; the checklist refers back to the rule. So is this configuration OK? Please see pics.

I’ve bolded some text for emphasis.

We ask you to please thoroughly read the VEX Robotics Comeptition Nothing But Net Game Manual before posting in this forum.

I will re-quote the specific rule, which you actually quoted above.

As you stated, your status LED’s cannot be seen. As such your Robot would be in violation of <R16>.
