R7 (allowed non-VEX parts) section c says we can use: “Any commercially available #4, #6, #8, M2, M2.5, M3 or M4 screw up to 2” long, and any commercially available nut and/or washer to fit these screws."
I’m wondering if “Commercially available” means that the screws must be obtained through a retailer, or if a 3D print of the allowed screw would be a legal part.
Would it be legal to 3D print and use any #4, #6, #8, M2, M2.5, M3 or M4 screw up to 2" long on my robot to reduce weight?
Edit: I know the question has been asked in the past about use of 3D printed parts, such as this one: https://vexforum.com/t/answered-commercially-ordering-a-3d-print/43963/1
The difference between the posts I have been able to find and the questions I’m asking is that I want to use a 3D printed part that is identical to a functional, vex legal part, whereas the other questions are about decoration.
