Answered: Robot Contact and SG5

As a referee I have a question about SG5.

Red robot is in possession of a mobile goal with multiple cones. They are carrying this mobile goal around the field. Blue robot contacts Red robot. As a result of this contact cones are knocked to the ground. Violation or not. I have ruled in previous tournaments that contact is to be expected in Vex. I can’t believe that the intent of SG5 is to create a halo around the red robot prohibiting any contact between robots.

Any interaction, direct or indirect, which causes Cones to no longer be Stacked on an opposing Mobile Goal is considered a violation of SG5. Please see the following similar Q&A’s and the Q&A Summary document:
