Answered: SG9 Hoarding definition

I apologize if this has been asked before, but if you want to assist your ally by bring cones towards them with a flat surface one at a time, would this be considered legal, or is it hoarding?
If so, can you do the same but pushing multiple cones to your ally?

When watching for hoarding, there are two major criteria that referees should keep an eye out for:

  1. If the robot is pushing multiple Cones at once
  2. If the Cones are being kept away from the opposing alliance, such as by crowding them into a corner and then protecting that corner

As always, it is difficult to issue a blanket ruling on a hypothetical snapshot of a match or strategy. However, we would encourage referees to look at the full context of the match with those two points in mind. “Delivering” cones for an alliance partner to score would likely be acceptable, provided that the above points (especially point 2) are kept in mind.
