would you be able to use the sizing box plate (the one the robot sits on) as a vex part on your robot? Also would you be able to machine it, if it is an official vex part allowed to be used on a robot? thanks in advance

Let’s take a look at the applicable rule from the VEX Gateway Game Manual:

<R5b> Only the VEX Robotics Design System Components specifically designed to be used for Robot construction are allowed. Using additional components outside their typical purpose is against the intent of the rule (i.e. please don’t try using VEX apparel, competition support, packaging or other non-robot products on a VEX Robotics Competition Robot).

The Robot Sizing Tool (both the caliper and the plate) are considered to be “competition support” materials, thus illegal for use in VEX Gateway.
