It has come to our notice that the new rule imposed on the battery chargers permitted for use has excluded the old Fast Chargers. For teams like mine who use such legacy products, it will render our current inventory of batteries useless. Are we allowed using the old batteries with the old chargers?
Any VEX charger may be used. The Smart Charger was specifically mentioned as it is the only charger currently being sold by VEX, and is the only charger that can safely charge the current NiMH Battery Packs sold by VEX. The legacy chargers referenced in the linked thread are legal for teams who are still using the old NiCad batteries that were discontinued by VEX.
