Answered: Vertical Volume of Ball Possession

In the NBN Game Manual, the definition of Possessing a ball is as follows:

Possessing - A Robot is considered to be Possessing a Scoring Object if it is carrying, holding , or controlling the movement of any Scoring Object(s) in the Robot. Pushing/plowing Scoring Objects is not considered Possession , however using concave portions of your Robot to control the movement of Balls is considered Possession.

I was wondering if we are allowed to have some parts of our robot hang over the ball, without the ball actually entering the volume created by the outer limits of 3d space of our robot. This would not be holding or *carrying * the ball and the ball would technically never enter the robot itself. This is assuming there are no walls on the sides of the ball. It would seem as though this would be legal as there is no concavity except that which is created by the robot and the ground and thus only be considered Pushing/plowing. I have included a very crude drawing of what I’m trying to say.

Thanks

From what you have described, this appears not to be Possession of a Ball.
