Answered: VEX U preloads/match loads

I found this question from about four months ago, but I couldn’t find any other clarification, so I apologise if this has already been answered somewhere.

The question: in VEX U, as there is only one team per alliance, what happens to the extra two cones normally set aside to be preloads in VRC matches?

This question is answered by VUG6, from the VEX U Game Manual Appendix.

Each alliance’s one extra Cone becomes a Match Control Load, giving the alliance/team (13) Cones total.
