Hello Karthik,
We have noticed that <R7f> in the VEX U Rules reads:
Teams are allowed to fabricate their own unique VEX parts from the following additional items, for each of
their robots:
a. Plastic cut from a single 6” x 6” x 1” block
i. Examples of “plastic block” are PVC, Delrin, and ABS
b. Steel OR Aluminum cut from a single sheet no larger than 12” x 12” and no thicker than 0.070”
c. Two 3D printed parts, each less than 3” x 3” x 3”
There is no mention of polycarbonate or other non-shattering plastic, although <R7f> in the standard rules specifically allows such usage.
Non shattering plastic from the following list; polycarbonate, acetel monopolymer (Delrin),
acetal copolymer (Acetron GP), POM (acetal), ABS, PEEK, PET, HDPE, LDPE, Nylon (all
grades), Polypropylene, FEP; as cut from a single 12" x 24" sheet up to 0.070" thick.
i. Plastic can be mechanically altered by cutting, drilling or bending etc., but it cannot be
chemically treated, melted or cast. Teams may heat the polycarbonate to aid in bending.
Does this mean that non shattering plastic cannot be used in VEX U? Or do the standard rules take precedence here? Thank you for your help.
Please note that the following response is only applicable for VEX U.

Rule 2 in Appendix E - VEX U, outlines the materials that are available in addition to any allowable VRC materials. Thus, anything mentioned in <R7f> is also legal for VEX U, specifically non shattering plastic.
