It has occured to me there is a problem for the time the 2011 Vex world championships would be held. The reason is that the FRC world championships is being held the same weekend as the vex world championships. I am going to be in highschool next year and going to join robotics. The highschool I go to competes in both competitions. My highschool is probably not the only highschool with this problem. Will it be possible to rescedule the event so the 2 world championships do not interfere with each other. Many good teams have to decide between these 2 world championships if the vex world championshiip is not rescheduled. Many highschool teams like mine would probably go to the FRC one if they had to choose since they are the same date. The reason is that vex usually helps teams get ready for FRC. Some highschool advisors say vex is for the little league or childish. Mahalo for your help. I’m sorry if something I said is not nice. Aloha!
My main point is that did you guys consider the FRC world championshiop is happening the same time? Will it be possible to reschedule the event to a later or earliar time? I would hate to decide between FRC world championships and VEX world championships this decision would be vary tough! Although some team members would rather attend the FRC one. I always am into VEX since I never tryed FRC yet. My advisor said we may be able to attend both if we qaulify, but having the events the same time will toos out that idea. Please take what I wrote in consideration. Thank you

Yes we are aware of the conflicts between the 2 events and unfortunately the event dates can not be changed. We also sponsor teams that compete in both events and how we are going to handle this situation is not known. The team is discussing the following possibilities: will choose to do only one, splitting the team and send part of the team to both events, do another Regional and not do the championship, ect… We agree that a tough decision will have to be made.

I dont think the team would spilt up and go to both well actually it is possible. Since I can could go with my intermediate school but compete for my highschool for vex. I am not sure but automatically the team captain said if we had qaulified for both and this happened we would go FRC. IF the competition were different times we would of attended both… But are teacher is saying he would atleast would like to attend the vex world championships once. He also said it is the team decision mainly also and if we qaulify by his due date of november. (fundraising issues).
If I had a choice this would be so hard. I would be fine going to the vex world championships again since it was awesome in 2010. Or also going to the FRC world championships which i never did. This is so tough. I wonder what will happen deciding between these to great robotic programs.
