Answered: VEXnet Joystick Batteries

Salutations,

I have a 2 questions, both deal with powering the Vexnet Joystick:

  1. Is it legal to use any brand of batteries for the VEXnet Joystick during competitions?

  2. Is it legal to use a spare 9.6 volt battery from the previous controller to power the new controller if no part of the controller or battery is altered?

Thanks in advance,

–Ben Mitchell

  1. Yes, there are no restrictions on the type of batteries used in the VEXnet Joystick

  2. Yes, this legal based on the caveat you mentioned. Team cannot modify the VEXnet Joystick in anyway. In addition, teams may not modify the 9.6V battery in any way.

Ok, thanks. If an intermediary wire is used to connect the battery to the Joystick, is that OK to use in competition?

Thanks,

–Ben

No, the battery must be connected directly to the joystick.
