i just wanted know if i could use the pneumatic solenoid driver cable with my vex red to control a vexplorer motor because the the motor controller looks the same as the driver cable and the vexplorer motor plugs into the driver cable just fine.

Unfortunately no, the Driver Cable can not handle the 1+ Amps required by the motor. You can use the MOTOR-CONTROLLER-100.
