Answered: Web Access in Dallas?

Will there be wireless web access in Dallas or should we plan on setting up our own local network?

No public internet will be provided.

The VEX College Challenge will be using the VEXnet (802.11) based wireless control system at the 2009 VEX Robotics Competition World Championship. Our testing to date indicates minimal issues with computer WiFi networks, however, more testing is needed. In order to ensure a fair and high quality event for the college teams using VEXnet, we will not allow private WiFi networks. Mobile cell-based broadband cards are allowed. We will be using special 802.11 scanners and sniffers as we continue to test and improve the VEXnet system.

We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
