In a tournament yesterday we debated as to whether or not a team with fewer members can have members of another team auto-load for them. Example: A team with one member is allied with another one member team. Can a member of a different team that is not competing auto-load for them? (there are fewer than 6 people at the drivers station)

Yes, this would be acceptable. Please remember that <G3>, quoted below, must be adhered to.

<G3> Each team shall include up to three Drive Team Members. No Drive Team Member may fulfill this role for more than one team at any given event.

Thus, once a Student has played a Match on a Drive Team for a given team, they cannot be a Drive Team member for any other Team for the duration of the event.
