Answered: World Championship programming skills question - match loads

(I put under the worlds Q&A thread instead of normal gateway rules thread since it’s rules just for worlds. Please move to the other thread if it should be a rules thread question instead)

With the new programming skills rules, there’s a new rule on interaction with the robot for manuevering it as it has to be completely in the red/blue tile with nothing touching in the gray. So that leads to a question on match loads.

Is a match load considered under this new interaction rule? Does the robot have to be completely in the alliance tile to perform a match load once the run is under way? Or do the normal game rules of match load where the robot can be partially on the tile still apply? Is the new interaction defintion just for maneuvering the robot or does it apply to the match loads of the remaining 4-6 game elements?

SG5 of the regular game does have content about match loads.

Time to re-evaluate the skills program… I guess only the small robots will be able to do the aim and shoot maneuvering now.

Thanks

Provided that the Match Load takes place with no additional interaction with the robot, it does not need to be fully within the tile. However, if you were to touch a Robot during Match Loading, and the Robot was not completely within the tile, you would be in violation of

Thanks. So to be safe, i guess they’ll be pulling it in fully to the colored tile (all wheels touching) and then match load to not risk that accidental touch during a match load.

You’re welcome.

Yes, that is very advisable.
