Wow I can’t wait to see this robot
Will there be anymore upcoming teasers? Preferably a hint as to what all these pistons will do?
Maybe, Maybe.
Haha I can’t wait to see this robot. I can’t wait till the next teaser.
Are you going to build a telescoping arm using pistons?
That’s just crazy talk! To many pistons there.
to put that into perspective the HOG tele arm went from 20 inches long to 54 inches long in 2 seconds flat. In an envelop that was less than 2 lbs (some steel parts) and less that 3 inches across. If you were to use pistons to achieve this, and remain HS legal you would need 17 pistons and it would be much heavier than 2 lbs.
ohhhh Andrew…
Who said it needs to last 2 minutes…
Ponder that one my friends.

Oh Nick, its been a long time!
BTW It was nice meeting you at FRC worlds.
This is true…
I know just where to put it to!
pneumatic train drive. For the win.
You sir just made my night!!!
That was the intention.
Yo dawg… we heard you like air… http://greenobles.com/data_images/xzibit/xzibit-05.jpg
Oh, you guys humor me so!
so. Quite simply put there will be lots of air. However the purpose of the 13 tanks was to see how many we could fit into our robot easily without much work… Right now on the bot that is shown has been scrapped for a better iteration, using just as much air if not more.
And I most certianly do LOVE air! Its a reletively simple solution to have lots of powerful output. And if I do say so myself a Pneumatic Drive train was on my list for a little bit, but its has also been scrapped for a better use of resources.
I might make one just to say I did. That is if I could pull off the tolerences. And then bring a working model to worlds… We will see.
Lets just say working for an adhesive company has its perks. Lots of cool stuff here guys.
oh boy I feel sorry for you trying to find a leak with that many wires…
If you know what your doing, the likely hood of a leak is much smaller. But yes if a leak occurs, it will be um… Fun?
Actually now that I think about it, the system is quite modular, more or less designed to take all of the tanks off in about 2 minutes depending on how fast you are with the tools. Basically the bolts that come with the accumulators are simply extra weight and we don’t really need them. But alas a new iteration is underway, don’t quite know how many tanks it will have, but It can have a lot I believe due to space being used extremely efficiently.
I can confirm Andrew isn’t trolling.
He really needs all this air.
Mad cray.

Same with me. I’m really looking forward to all college teams this year though!
Hm, what could you possibly use all of this air for? Are you planning to build a robot that can play the tuba?
Or, is it going to be a robot to fly over the troughs?
