Are clamp guards worth it? They seem good in theory, however many of the more traditional ones have holes in the middle (the area clamps tend to grab) to allow them to fit around the branches of goals. Do teams that use these guards find them affective?
As far as I know, while the hole can be seen as a weakness, given the design of most good clamps I have seen, the prongs will not be able to get around the cover. Even my own team’s electric clamp which utilized a single c-channel and was very strong/effective, was not slim enough or precise enough to get around goal cover like that.
Is it pneumatic or is it passive?
pneumatic deploy, low psi w/ rubber band assist & holddown.
