Say you have plow and a defensive strategy would be to lose the weight of it and block opponents from scoring. Is it legal. It is on purpose and will detach. Are idea needs it to detach so we can climb the pole easier without the weight of the plow.

Your not aloud to purposely detach something and leave it on the court. Also, leaving part of you robot on the court when climbing would not be counted as a climb because part of your robot would still be touching the court floor.

<G11> Robots may not intentionally detach parts during any Match, or leave mechanisms on the
field. Minor violations of this rule that do not affect the match will result in a warning. Egregious
(match affecting) offenses will result in a Disqualification. Teams that receive multiple warnings may
also receive a Disqualification at the head refereeās discretion. Multiple intentional infractions may
result in Disqualification for the entire competition.
