are you allowed to use tape in vex robotics in the zone?
Please consult the appropriate section of the rules manual before asking questions on this forum.
Speaking unofficially, I think you can use tape on your robot only to hold wires in place or, as in the case of working with pneumatics, use teflon tape to help seal those components that normally screw together. But you can NOT use tape to hold things together such as two metal parts or to tape on license plates, etc. The Game Manual can be found here: https://www.vexrobotics.com/vexedr/competition/vrc-current-game
Search the manual by using the word “tape”, or have a look at what’s listed under rule R<7> g and L, etc.
<R7> Robots are allowed the following additional “non-VEX” components:
l. Commercially available items used solely for the purpose of bundling or wrapping of 2-wire, 3-wire, 4-wire cables, and pneumatic tubing, for the purposes of protection, organization, or management are allowed. This includes but is not limited to electrical tape, cable carrier, cable track, etc. Note: it is up to inspectors to determine whether a component is serving a function beyond protecting and managing cables.
I did, I couldn’t find anything.
There is also R7g:
One other legal use of tape is non-functional decoration.
