Autodesk using Vex Curriculum

We are using the Vex Curriculum and are currently working through the build of the clawbot in section 4.3. We are having issues with applying the constraints to the collar in video 6 and 7.

There seems to be three constraints that need to be applied to the collar and shaft in video 6:

  1. mate constraint - face to face (this seems to work)
  2. mate constraint - center of collar to center of bearing flat (may be working but difficult to find center of bearing flat and difficult to see in video)
  3. angle constraint - top of set screw to face of shaft (ONCE THIS CONSTRAINT IS APPLIED, THE SHAFT NO LONGER TURNS)

We have been working on this for over a week and I feel that we are wasting valuable class time. Very frustrated with the curriculum at this point. Any suggestions on why this constraint is not working and has anyone else had this issue?

Yes, that constraint worked fine. It seems to be with the constraints on the collar.

After you have completed step 2 can the collar spin freely? It should be able to.

I grounded the bearing flats and it seemed to fix the problem! Thank you so much. For anyone struggling through the videos, I believe they also left off a step in video 7 with the gear. You must also apply an angle constraint to the gear/shaft to keep it from slipping.
