For the auton win point, you have to make contact with your team’s elevation bar. Based on the auton rules, you cannot be on the far side (opposing teams’) offensive zone, which means you cannot break the plane under the elevation bar as you touch. At every competition we’ve been to, teams are doing this to get their contact for the auton win point. Has their been a rule update that I missed or are my kids interpreting this rule incorrectly?
Can you point out the rule in the game manual where this is specified?
The offensive zone is defined as the gray foam tiles on either side, it is not a 3d projection. So, as long as you don’t make contact with your opponent’s tiles, you can reach under the elevation bar like you described. Hope this helps.
You can break the plane under the elevation bar, you just can’t touch the tile on the other side or interfere with a robot on the other side. But you can break the plane
Mis-spoke, you can break as long as you don’t touch the tile, but with the tile seam being under the bar, it’s very hard to break the plane without touching. It’s a matter of rolling under an inch or so and stopping before your wheel gets to the new tile.
Thanks everyone, think we have it figured out now.
