Autonomous start

How do I run a program fully autonomous?

I’m using a Vex Cortex, RobotC, and the Clawbot. I use the orange programming cable to connect my laptop to the Vex Cortex. I have an LCD screen connected that I’m using to press the center button to start the program.

I’ve tried starting the program then unplugging the orange cable, but then the debugger screen says “Failure ‘Reading bricks status more’” and the LCD screen just says “ROBOTC.”

How can I start the program from the LCD screen without having the orange programming cable connected?
