Autonomous Submarine

Hey guys, I need your help. I am currently competing in a competition called “RoboSub” and our goal is to build a fully autonomous AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle). This is our first year competing in this. As many of you know, I have been in the world of VEX and been around the forum for a while now. This competition is intense and we have until July to finish this but I need your help getting the word around. We are currently working on our website but in the mean time we are using the power of Facebook. Can you guys please “like” our page? We need to get the word out to as many people as possible. Here is a link to our page- http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nautilus/226562884149867 and here is the mission that we need to complete- [http://higherlogicdownload.s3.amazonaws.com/AUVSI/fb9a8da0-2ac8-42d1-a11e-d58c1e158347/UploadedImages/2013%20RoboSub/RoboSub_PreliminaryMission_2013.pdf . If anyone has any questions about anything dont be afraid to ask. Thanks guys, we appreciate it.](http://higherlogicdownload.s3.amazonaws.com/AUVSI/fb9a8da0-2ac8-42d1-a11e-d58c1e158347/UploadedImages/2013%20RoboSub/RoboSub_PreliminaryMission_2013.pdf . You are using VEX parts to do this? I’m reading the manual, and it doesn’t seem like that would be possible.

We are not using VEX parts, most of it is custom made. We just built the computer for it, i7 processor, SSD, and 8gb or ram with Linux Ubuntu as our OS. We are using Arduinos for some of the sensors but the CPU will do the most work.

Very nice. This sounds like a lot of work compared to VEX.

Good luck.

Thank You. it is a ton of work but it will be worth it. We were going to compete in VEX but my boss said that he already payed for registration so we went for it.
