The Vex Manual states that an Autonomous Win Point “is awarded to any Alliance that has Cleared their AWP Line and Scored at least one Ring on each Alliance Mobile Goal at the end of the Autonomous Period.”
While the Autonomous Bonus Point is awarded to the Alliance that has the most points at the end of the Autonomous Period.
I understand that the Autonomous Bonus Point is plus 20 points to the team that scored the highest amount of points during autonomous. But what is the Autonomous Win Point?
it is one win point added to the team’s rankings. it does not effect the outcome of the match in any way, but it does effect the rankings. You earn 2 win points for winning a match, 1 point for tying a match, and now you get 1 point for doing this specific task during auton.
So every two matches where you complete this task, your rankings will improve as if you’ve won an extra match. Well worth doing if you can.
Correct, wp’s, ap’s and ssp’s are only used to determine rankings for qualification matches and have no bearing on elimination matches (besides setting up teams for alliance selection)
just to add on to what @Xenon27 has mentioned - this also means that for this season, do expect to see teams using different autonomous routines for qualifying matches and eliminations.
yes, definitely. The auton win point is so valuable in qualification matches, it’s often worth giving up the goal rush and/or the auton bonus for. But in elimination matches, autonomous is all about getting the biggest advantage over your opponent as possible, not about the win point. That could still involve scoring rings however.
