Backspinin NBN

I have been wondering if backspin is going to be be a good thing or not this year. in basketball, players give the ball a little backspin to help it roll into the hoop easier. I wonder if the same concept could help with NBN or if it just makes to ball throw inaccurately (Magnus effect).

the easiest way to get backspin would be a shooter like in this video from FRC Rebound Rumble.

There was mention of this in another thread about flywheels…

I think it would help with the arc but right now I am working on making a flywheel launch the preferred distance before I start worrying about aiming and or backspin

I personally believe the backspin will will be a nice addition to a shooter. I’ve already built and tested a single wheel flywheel like the FRC robots. And it seem rather efficient when it comes to scoring. Its very consistent and can make a shot from just about any point on the field. Its also a little more compact in my opinion.
