Baltimore - Western High Invitational

The Baltimore City - Western High Invitational was held on Sat. Feb. 25.

What a fun day! Two divisions in the am - MS & HS. For alliance selections, the top 8 HS teams were required to select a MS team as their first round pick.

A fantastic group of volunteers, good sound system and radios, great visuals - 4 large screens showing the fields, schedules and rankings and the fields ran well. The event included both skills challenges as well as a practice field. We ended early and tear down went quickly.

A powerhouse panel of judges including engineering professors from 3 local universities, from the office of STEM initiatives at the MD State Dept of Education, from Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, from Northrop Grumman, from Girl Scouts, and the Y of Central Maryland, and teachers and administrators from Baltimore City.

The hosts, the RoboDoves, in addition to the traditional VEX trophies, made their own-see attached image. There were 3 awards presented that were unique to this event.

Congrats to all involved!
