For our robot, we made a 3:1 speed increase gear ratio, but for some reason wheels stopped working, after some time one of our wheels was able to move but the other still can’t move. I’m confused?
Its Vex IQ not v5rc. It could be because of to much fruition and also over use of the motor which would lock and not turn.
Oh shoot, I didn’t see that, sorry! Ignore what I said!
I would suggest manually turning the wheels yourself first. The wheels could be directly sliding against the wheel frames, creating too much friction. If that’s the case, try adding spacers, and longer axles.
alright i’ll try that i’ll just wait
It is likely unless you are running a four motor drivetrain it doesn’t sustain the necessary torque for consistency or speed.
ok ty but i used the same gear ratio for both sides one works but the other does not
Look at both sides of the drive train and check if any parts are different. Like i said, u could be missing spacers on one side, causing more friction.
Possibly there is the problem of a drivebase axle being “out” This means that the axle may be too short and has escaped from it’s proper place.
Turn down your drive ratio. Try a 2.17:1 ratio for more torque and still lots of speed.
