Batteries Overheating

So I just bought some brand new batteries from VEX, and with-in me using them maybe 5 times, they will overheat and refuse to charge. Does anyone know how to prevent this? (the batteries are about a week old)

After intense use (and charging), I have experienced batteries overheating and refusing to charge temporarily. I have fixed this by letting the batteries cool off (it shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes), and then putting them back on the charger. I haven’t found a way to prevent this (other than not being very hard on your batteries), but letting them cool off has always worked for me.

Oh thank you so much, also two of the batteries we just bought have broken. They will flash red and green at random while in the charger. Do you know how to fix this?

I’ve never seen or heard of that before. It could be either a software of hardware problem, but either way I think you’re right that the batteries are broken. If you do find a solution, I’d love to hear it.

It would be helpful to see a video of this happening. Otherwise you might want to talk to someone at VEX.
