Battery breaking when plugging into Brain

So I just plugged in a battery and drove the robot for a minute or so. I left and came back after about 5 mins and the robot was off, and the controlled was disconnected. It wouldn’t turn back on and tried changing the cable. So I switched the battery and it worked fine. So I guess this battery is broken now? Ok. Then the new battery did the same thing after a few minutes. They were both freshly charged batteries. When I press the power button, 3/4 lights turn on and, strangely, the one that doesn’t turn on is the left-most light (usually lights turn off from the right side as power decreases). I tried to look up any documentation for the indicator lights or something but as far as I know, no such thing exists. So I’m really not sure what to do. Is my Brain damaged or something and its just breaking batteries?
