Hello, I want to start a VEX team at my school but have a few questions:
- I want to continue participating in my school’s FRC teams, can I do this?
- when and for how long is the build season?

Yes, there is no rule prohibiting you (that would meet a lot of resistance). Just be warned though you may be short on time during the FRC build season and have to plan ahead (try to attend signature events from August - December and win an early season Worlds qualification before strategies get too complicated, do your FRC stuff, then rebuild for Worlds).
The build season starts around April and continues for a full year (until the next April when the VEX international competition, “Worlds”, is held). However, many teams do 1 to 3 rebuilds through the season as match strategies evolve.
Also, you categorized this as VEX IQ, which is the middle school competition. I assume you’re talking about VRC, the main high school VEX competition.
