Best gear ratio for hook

Currently building a hook intake and having troubles with torque and speed trying to find the best gear ratio

We are running a blue motor directly connected to a small sprocket and it is working well.

What are you having trouble with? Are you trying to move the ring around a sharp corner? As far as gear ratios go, Iā€™m running a green motor on a 24t sprocket but unless your moving it very fast it should be able to lift it. The only other things I can think of is if you are trying to grab it from slightly underneath the conveyor belt and trying to turn it very sharply around a small sprocket. Pictures would be helpful

to be honest there is no right answer. lots of people have lots of different speeds. soe run them really slow and some run really fast. its jsut a question of what can you make most consistent.

your best bet is starting slow and gradually speeding it up until it doesnt score and then stopping there. the faster you can go the better. it also just requires alot of tuning and each persons bot is gonna have a sightley different tune to it.
