When I do a firmware upgrade it shows bootloader 6 (sometimes bootloader 7). The VEX Change Log lists booloader 8 as the latest. Is this an issue and what is the correction? We use EasyC
Hello Railrhodes,
This is an excellent question.
Bootloader 6 was a version of factory code used in our 2010 Cortex units, this version proved to be very reliable and the other updates of the boatload added specific improvements which can be useful depending in your application or operating system. For a description of each bootloader version please visit this page.
If you would like to update the bootload in your Cortex, you will have to mail it back to VEX for repair. There is no cost for this repair, other than the shipping fee.
If interested please contact support@vex.com
