Wondering if this has happened to anyone else, Our team was using our robot and there was a message saying “Motor 12 overheat level 1” and then it went up to level 2. We stopped the robot, and made sure there wasn’t a Smokey smell. Just seeing if this has happened to anyone else and wondering what it means.
okay, this hasn’t happened to me so I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that your motor was overheating. in all seriousness, I’m guessing the level 1 and level 2 stuff are just how bad the overheating is.
The motor overheats error will cut power to the motor so it won’t burn out. You should never get a smokey smell because the motor will stop before breaking itself. Which is at level 4. Level 1 and two has happened to me in the past when at states with heavy defense.
The overheating message is no big deal if you were using the motor for a while. Now if it’s something that pops up really early you might want to consider what could be the source of the problem (i.e. friction, not designed with enough torque, ext).
