We were trying to update the firmware when the brain froze, and RobotC crashed. We then took the battery out of the brain, and put it back in. The Brain started to turn on, but stayed on the screen that says VEX. Any help is welcome.
Hi Burgermieste,
We’re sorry that you have had this problem. To help resolve this problem, we will manually put the Robot Brain into Firmware Update mode and reinstall its firmware.
Unplug the Robot Battery from your Robot Brain, and press down and hold the Up and Down buttons on the Robot Brain, then press the Check button on the Robot Brain. Now release all three buttons. This will turn on the Robot Brain into DFU (Device Firmware Update). In this mode the Robot Brain LCD Screen should display:
VEX Robotics Inc. DFU
Connect to PC for
Program Update
V1.01
Now connect the Robot Brain to your computer with the USB Cable, and launch the VEX IQ Firmware Update Utility. When the Robot Brain is in DFU mode, you can re-install the Robot Brain firmware by clicking on the Update button. Once the firmware update is complete, the Robot Brain should return to it’s normal state.
